Terms of Service

By using Family Storybook Studio ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

Family Storybook Studio lets you create personalized AI-illustrated children's storybooks starring your family members. You can export stories as image packs for printing. The Service is provided by Family Storybook Studio ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Your Account

You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Do not share your login credentials. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Your Content

You own the stories and photos you create and upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not sell your content or use it to train AI models. Photos of family members are used only to generate illustrations within your account.

4. Our Intellectual Property

The following are the proprietary intellectual property of Family Storybook Studio and are protected by copyright, trade secret, and other applicable laws:

• The AI prompt systems, instruction sets, and orchestration logic used to generate stories and illustrations
• The Expert Arc framework — including arc templates, beat structures, coaching frameworks, scene modules, constraint systems, developmental scaffolds, and coach note methodology
• The illustration brief generation system and character consistency pipeline
• The software, algorithms, user interface, and all associated code

Access to the Service does not transfer any ownership of or license to this intellectual property beyond what is expressly needed to use the Service for its intended personal purpose.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer the system. You may not attempt to extract, reconstruct, or derive the AI prompts, instruction sets, arc templates, coaching frameworks, or any other proprietary system logic — whether through direct inspection, systematic testing, output analysis, or any other method.
• Scrape or automate access. You may not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or automated scripts to access, copy, or extract content from the Service. All access must be through normal human use of the interface.
• Use for competitive intelligence. You may not use the Service, its outputs, or its content to develop, train, or improve a competing product or service.
• Train AI models. You may not use stories, illustrations, arc content, or any output from the Service to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any AI or machine learning model.
• Bulk extract arc content. The Expert Arc library is proprietary. You may not systematically access, copy, or reproduce arc content beyond what is reasonably necessary for personal use of the Service.
• Commercial redistribution. You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute generated stories or illustrations without our written permission.
• Upload harmful or illegal content. You may not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others, including images of individuals without their consent.

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and may expose you to legal liability.

6. Credits and Payments

The Service uses a credit and subscription system. Credits are consumed when generating illustrations and story text. Credits and subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law. Subscription prices may change with 30 days' notice.

7. AI-Generated Content

Stories and illustrations are generated by AI and may occasionally produce unexpected results. We do our best to keep content appropriate for children, but we cannot guarantee every output. You should review generated content before sharing it. We are not liable for AI-generated content that does not meet your expectations. Regeneration tools are available on every story.

8. Children's Privacy

This Service is used by parents and caregivers to create stories featuring children. We take the privacy of children's images seriously. Character photos are stored securely, accessible only to your account, and are used solely to generate illustrations. We do not share, sell, or publish photos of children. You represent that you have the right to upload any photos you provide.

9. Community Library

Your stories are private by default. You may opt individual stories into the public Community Library. By doing so, you grant us a license to display that story publicly within the Service. You may withdraw a story from the Community Library at any time, and it will no longer be displayed publicly. We reserve the right to remove community stories that violate these terms.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data and is incorporated into these terms by reference.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we shut down the Service, we will provide reasonable notice and the ability to export your stories before discontinuation.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We make no warranties about uptime, availability, accuracy of AI output, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
